Dr. Philipp Boeing is a Visiting Assistant Professor with the China Center for Economic Research, National School of Development at Peking University. In addition, he is a researcher with the Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics“ at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, Germany. His main research interests include the economics of innovation at the firm level, in particular policy evaluation, the productivity effects of research activities, and the quality of patents. His applied micro-econometric research is particularly concerned with China’s development towards an innovation-driven economy and the impact of this on Europe. Dr. Boeing earned his doctoral degree at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and holds a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies and Economics from the Ruhr University Bochum as well as a master’s degree in International Business from the Frankfurt School. Philipp Boeing has been a visiting scholar at Melbourne University, Tsinghua University, United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), and LMU Munich.
